This is a series of lessons that connect the following formulas.

    AGENDA

    -         ODD/EVEN  Discovering expected value and its standard deviation.  Word doc.

    -         On your own teach binomials

    -         Create binomial distributions with different n’s and p’s.  (n = 4  p = .2, n = 10 p =.9, n = 8  p = .5, n = 6  p=.1) Have every group find the mean and standard deviation of their distribution.  Have the class discover any patterns for the mean and standard deviation for a binomial distribution.

    -         Discover the shape of a binomial distribution by having groups create distributions of different sample sizes with the same p. (n = 5 p = .2, n = 10 p = .2, n = 15 p = .2, n = 50 p = .2.)

    -         Create a sampling distribution of sample proportions.

Roll 10 die and create a distribution of the number of 4’s.  Describe the center, shape, and spread.

Roll 60 die and create a distribution of the number of 4’s.  Describe the center, shape, and spread.

Under the simulated binomial distributions create a distribution of the proportion of 4’s out of 10 and 60 rolls. Describe the center, shape, and spread.
