• Communications Office

    Wallingford-Swarthmore School District's Office of Communications seeks to advance the mission of the District by managing and overseeing the development, coordination, and success of communications materials and channels, including community engagement. Through a meaningful and inclusive approach to developing communications materials and supporting community engagement, the Office ensures work to:

    • Develop, write, and edit marketing and communications materials, including press releases, blog posts and digital marketing content
    • Create and coordinate a District-wide strategic communications plan
    • Devise community relations strategy and implement a multi-level inclusive engagement model
    • Devise multimedia materials for events, programs, and digital outlets
    • Manage the effectiveness of communications tools, including the District website
    • Work with key stakeholders to conceptualize and implement communications strategies and campaigns
    • Devise and promote communications and marketing materials through appropriate channels
    • Respond to media inquiries and proactively engage in positive & meaningful media relations
    • Informs and builds meaningful relationships with community members
    • Prioritize accessibility in communicating and engaging with the public
    • Track analytics and provide reports detailing progress in communications campaigns
    • Ensure that all communications and marketing materials align with community standards
    • Develop escalation protocols for managing communication crises, should they arise
