Strath Haven students have the opportunity to spend half of each school day studying a particular area of interest at the Delaware County Technical High Schools (DCTS). There are multiple programs in five areas of study: Health and Biosciences; Engineering and Computer Science; Logistics, Distribution and Transportation; Hospitality, Tourism and Human Services; and Construction Technology. Students can begin attending DCTS in 10th grade, with opportunities to earn industry certifications and college credits. There are also opportunities for co-op experiences where students apply the skills that they have gained in a professional setting.
Please contact Ms. Smith, the district’s DCTS liaison, in the counseling office for information on visiting campus and applying for admission.
Hello DCTS students,
This is a reminder about transportation and scheduling for NOCTI testing on April 3rd:
You will spend the full day at DCTS. Breakfast and lunch will be provided there for you.
Note for PM students: Bus 22 goes to Aston, and Bus 10 goes to Folcroft. The buses leave by 7:15, so be sure to arrive at Strath Haven by 7:10.
SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS:
You are excused from DCTS for the day, but must attend SHHS as usual.
If you are in an AM program, you should arrive at SHHS in time for 3rd block. If you cannot arrange your own transportation to school at 10:30, then you are expected to ride the morning bus with all other SHHS students and spend 1st and 2nd block in the cafeteria.
If you are in a PM program, you will spend 3rd and 4th block in the guidance suite unless you can arrange your own transportation home at the end of 2nd block.
