November has started off very well! In October, we had our first opportunity to complete a whole-class book study with the book, Stellaluna; started our STEAM lessons, by creating "spider web bridges"; doing bat research on bats such as the flying fox, vampire, and fruit bats; and enjoyed our first class party and parade for the 2023-2024 school year!
This month, we kicked off hosting our first Mystery Reader - one of many others, we hope! Students will be learning more about Indigenous Americans (aka Native Americans); facts and myths about Thanksgiving; doing more informational-type writing; creating works that show thankfulness; learning about the Hindu celebration of Diwali, and so much more! So, please remember to check my News This Week link EVERY WEEK, which offers greater details on what is taking place in our classroom and around NPE. Thank you, in advance, for your partnership and support in helping your children thrive in 2nd grade!
