    Welcome to our class webpage! 

    My name is Sophie Korn (previously Sheintoch!), and I am really excited to be your child’s first grade teacher. It is always a thrill to welcome returning families as well as all my new families to room 201.  Seeing through the eyes of my first grade students always teaches me as much as I teach them. They are as inspirational to me as I intend to be to them.  Together, I look forward to working with you and your children to make this a wonderful year for us all. 

    My primary goals are to provide a safe, productive, and supportive learning environment, where your child has the opportunity to excel academically, emotionally, and socially. I know the transition into a new year can sometimes be a challenge, and my goal is to make it as seamless as possible.  I will do everything I can to ensure your child’s needs are met, and that they feel valued and comfortable in our classroom community.

    Communication is an essential tool in the classroom environment, so please know you can reach out to me for any reason throughout the school year. I will always respond to my email during the weekdays, as soon as I can. If you need to set up a time to talk, please email me first and we will find a good time. My email is skorn@wssd.org. Email is how I will be sharing important school and classroom updates as they come up, so please be sure to keep an eye out for my emails. I will also post class events and information throughout the year onto this webpage. :)
