Students at Swarthmore–Rutledge School participated in Walk or Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 9th. This internationally recognized day promotes physical activity, teaches safe walking and cycling skills to children, reduces traffic and draws attention to the great walkable community we live in. Students, families and pets joined Dr. Tuck and Mr. Kane, the physical education teacher, at the train station clock tower and at the corner of Chester Road and College Avenue to walk to SRS. The students were able to maintain a brisk pace while they chatted with family and friends walking to school. We also had a record number of students riding bicycles to school with their parents. The bike rack was full.
