United Nations Day

Third grade students at Swarthmore-Rutledge School studied the United Nations organization founded in 1945 after the World War II. The children learned about the commitment various countries have made to maintain international peace and security, develop friendly relations among nations to promote social progress, better living standards and human rights. The students also researched various cultures of countries participating in the United Nations. They created posters and brochures displaying information about the countries’ flags, commerce and industries.
