A Message from Dr. Hilden

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

As September's Suicide Awareness and Prevention month concluded, it brings us to October, and the 1-year anniversary of the loss of our student Hallie Jackson. This month in particular may bring forth memories of Hallie, stir up emotions and emphasize her absence from our school and community. We are sensitive to this and acknowledge how mourning can be a long-term process, and that this grief is ongoing for both our students and school community. We strongly encourage all of our students to seek support during what might be a very difficult time for them. Whether you personally knew Hallie or not, we advise that you speak to your counselors, your teachers, or any trusted person if you feel sad or depressed. Know that we are here to continue to support you through this time and beyond. On October 28th, counselors will be available at SHHS throughout the day and welcome any student in to see them. Please contact your counselor at the email or number below to set up an appointment.
