WES Summer Reading

Dear Families,

Reading is important and fun, even in the summer! Research tells us that children forget some of the skills they have learned when away from school over the summer months. Reading books will help reduce the “summer slide” that can occur when students do not read during the summer.

To encourage your child to continue reading this summer, we are sharing some reading activities.

You may print as many copies of these items as you need. Please bring completed reading challenges to school in September. You may also bring in a labeled photo or drawing of yourself reading. All student pictures will be featured on a bulletin board at school.

We wish you an enjoyable summer filled with lots of reading!
