Raptor Visitor Management System

September 17, 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians,

In 2019, the District purchased the Raptor Visitor Management System through a competitive Safe Schools Grant.  In January, 2020 the District had begun the process to install the Raptor system in each building.  Because of our schools being shut down in mid-March of that year due to COVID, the implementation never came to fruition.  By the end of September, the Raptor system is being installed and will be operating in each building.  As a reminder, our current Health and Safety Plan states that only essential visitors are allowed in buildings at the current time.

The Raptor Visitor Management software enables schools to know precisely who is on campus. The software screens for sex offenders, and the District will have the ability to run custom alerts.  Raptor is only scanning the visitor’s name, date of birth and photo for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders. Once cleared through the system, a visitor badge is produced that includes a photo, the name of the visitor, time and date. It also will keep complete sign-in/out attendance history, and provide district-wide reporting.  Additional visitor data will not be gathered, and no data will be shared with any outside company or organization. The Raptor system will only be used if a person is entering the building or picking up a student, not if a parent or guardian is dropping off an item for a student.

Beginning October 1st, all visitors will need to provide identification as they enter our schools using a government-issued ID.  Identification documents include all state licenses, state identification cards, green cards, active military cards, and passport card (not the full passport).  Please be aware, if you cannot provide identification, you will not be admitted into the buildings.

Please feel free to contact me at with any additional questions.

Thank you,

Mary Figura
