Updated Food Service Information
The WSSD Summer Food Program has been extended through December 2020 and now includes the weekends and holidays. Children who are 18 years of age and under can receive free meals. All meals are free of charge.
New Pick-up Schedule (beginning week of September 21st):
Days: Mondays and Thursdays
Mondays - Monday lunch; Tuesday breakfast and lunch; Wednesday breakfast and lunch; Thursday breakfast.
Thursdays - Thursday lunch; Friday breakfast and lunch; Saturday breakfast and lunch; Sunday breakfast and lunch; Monday breakfast.
(Please note: Monday, September 28th is a district holiday, so pickup for that week will be Tuesday, September 29th and Thursday, October 1st.)
Times: 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. OR 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- Strath Haven High School (Brookhaven Road entrance)
- Nether Providence Elementary School (front loop)
- Swarthmore-Rutledge School (Main Office lot)
All three locations will offer meals for all students of any grade level. If you have multiple students in the district, you can pick up all meals in one location of your choosing.
- Drive into the loop in the school’s parking lot.
- Tell the food service staff the number of children for the pick-up.
- Pop the trunk of your car while remaining inside.
- Our food service staff will place all meals in the trunk of the car to ensure we are limiting contact and practicing safe social distancing.
Do not duplicate food pick-up at multiple locations. This duplication is not allowed under the summer food program.
Menus can be accessed through the District website under the Food Services Department, or by visiting Nutrislice directly through the app or at https://wssd.nutrislice.com/. On Nutrislice, you will have the option to pre-order breakfast and lunch bundles in advance. One entrée will be available for breakfast and lunch each day. Pre-ordering is not mandatory, but is encouraged. Keep in mind the school you select on Nutrislice is the location of your meals for pickup.
Families with dietary concerns or questions regarding preordering should contact Kaitlin Howell, Food Service Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 610-892-3470 ext. 2151.
National School Lunch Program
We do encourage you to continue to apply for the National School Lunch Program free and reduced meals if you believe that you are eligible. After December, the District will be required to return to that program.
Applications for free and reduced breakfast and lunch are available here . If a paper copy of the application is needed, please contact Barb Downs at email@example.com or by phone at 610-892-3470 ext. 1305.
If you have any additional questions please contact Kaitlin Howell, Food Service Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 610-892-3470 ext. 2151.
