Creative Thinking and Process:At a recent conference, two great discussion points that were presented were the importance of Critical vs. Creative thinking and the balance between Process and Content. What was discussed was the general tendency in education to focus more on critical thinking and content. However, as several presenters shared, it is perhaps the other two components, creative thinking and process, that we should be paying attention to. My take-away from the conference is that our kids need both! Learning to look at problems and situations in new ways (creative thinking) and also having the "toolbox" of skills to solve and understand these problems (process) helps students build a solid foundation from which they can then do more engaging and challenging work (critical thinking and content)...Be cool!- Mr. M
