When WES was under construction, one of the spaces in the new building the faculty, staff and students were most excited about having at our disposal was the atrium. The old building had gorgeously cultivated space just beside the library and near the driveway that was similar but access to it was not favorable and the possibility of crossing paths with the occasional resident wildlife was highly probable. This new space has the good fortune to be accessible for everyone without disturbing Mrs. Lambertsen and little to no risk of having interactions with groundhogs.
Once it was completed, as nice as it was, the rocks inside made it slightly menacing to walk on. The 20/20 Vision Committee set in motion the project to rehab it making our atrium the perfect space, an outdoor interactive classroom and spot to reflect and create. With the help of the community they were able to raise the money to begin the project that will greatly enrich the lives of all WES students for generations to come.
Atrium CompositeWe look forward to sharing the progress of the Atrium as it undergoes its transformation…
