INVITATION TO BID
Sealed Bids are being requested for the above Single Prime Contract Project which includes:
- Removal and legal disposal of approx. 13,800 Sf of existing flat roof system.
- Close (approx. 16 ea) skylight penetrations
- Replace (6) existing roof drain grate covers
- Install new TPO roof system including edge terminations, curbs, sleeves and other special conditions.
Bids will be received in the Operations Office of the Wallingford - Swarthmore School District until
10:00 AM, on August 3 at which time, they will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the specified bid deadline at the SPENCER HOUSE.
A Pre-Bid / Site Visit Meeting will be held at WES on July 27, 2021 at 9 AM. Interested contractors are to meet in the rear of the school off Kershaw Road.
Bids shall be submitted, to the attention of Peter Klabunde, Director of Operations, and in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the project name and bid opening date and time.
Bid award is anticipated to be on August 16 at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting.
Work is scheduled to be done while school is in session, but can be planned around a Spring Break between (April 11 thru 15, 2022), at which time the contractor must maximize progress. All work must be completed by May 20, 2022. NOTE: In-school testing occurs the last week of April and the first (2) weeks in May, thus no disruptions in terms of noise is permitted.

IMPORTANT: Bidders must notify Nick Cirilli at email@example.com or (610) 613-3455 that they intend to bid the project or they may not have access to Addenda.
A hard copy of Plans, Specifications, Instructions, and Bidding Forms may be obtained for a non-refundable payment of $50.00 per set payable to The Wallingford Swarthmore School District.
The hard copy may be picked up from the Operations Office, Wallingford-Swarthmore School District, 200 South Providence Road, Wallingford, Pa., 19086, Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM after contacting Nick Cirilli, PE at firstname.lastname@example.org or (610) 613-3455.
Each Bid must be submitted on forms contained in the bidding documents and must be accompanied by bid security, non-collusion affidavit, and other documents, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
Bids shall conform to all other requirements as more fully set forth in the bidding documents, including compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This Project is subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Law, approved August 15, 1961 (Act No. 442), as amended, and reference is made to the prevailing minimum wage rates applicable to this Project which has been promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry.
All bids submitted are valid for acceptance by the Owner and may not be withdrawn for a period of at least sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof unless the award of contract is delayed by the required approvals of another governmental agency, sale of bonds or award of grant or grants, in which case, proposals shall be irrevocable for one hundred twenty (120) days in accordance with Section 3911 of the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Procurement Code, 62 Pa.C.S. § 3911.
The Wallingford - Swarthmore School District reserves the right to waive any informality and to accept or reject all or any part of any or all bids.
