Hi! My name is Dawn Dankanich.
I was graduated by Bloomsburg University with a degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Education of the Hearing-impaired. I earned my Master’s degree in Reading from Widener University.
This is my nineteenth year working for the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District and the sixteenth year I will be teaching kindergarten. Prior to finding my “perfect fit”, I taught second grade at All Saints’ Cathedral School in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. I have also taught art for Nether Providence recreation camp.
I am married to Michael Dankanich. We have three great children Michael, Matthew, and Maxfield. We have resided in Wallingford for 24 years. In fact all three of our children have attended Wallingford Elementary School.
Our pets include; Goucho the Shih- poo, Hemingway the red-footed tortoise, and Nacho the leopard gecko..
You might find me at the local library looking for a good mystery or working on their jigsaw puzzles. I enjoy flea marketing with my family. I love the hunt for a bargain or something to up-cycle. I enjoy making things with my hands such as; knitting, crocheting, painting, chair caning, stained glass, beading and glass-blowing.I have worked on many committees to help enhance and implement the curriculum at Wallingford Swarthmore School District. I am pleased to share that I was honored with an Excellence In Service Award 2013-2014. I received the Outstanding Teacher Award during my tenure in St.Thomas U.S.V.I. I have been honored by the Red Cross for exceeding 500 hours of teaching swimming and by the American Cancer Society for organizing the highest funds raised in Delaware County for their "Swim for Cancer" program.
