• Homework Policy and Expectations

    Nightly Homework:
Students are assigned nightly homework in reading, spelling and mathematics. Each nightly homework assignment is due on the following school day. Students benefit from nightly practice of the skills that are taught daily. Additionally, the completion and return of nightly homework teaches students responsibilityfor and ownership of their education. Any students who do not return nightly homework to school will stay in for recess that day. The missed homework assignment will either be completed during recess or returned to school the following day.
    Longterm Projects and Assignments:
In addition to nightly homework, students will have long term projects that are due over a monthly period. For these assignments, students will have a planned scope and sequence in their agenda books in order to meet their longterm goal. These larger assignments develop time management skills as well as long range planning abilities.
