    Homework Procedure

Each child has a homework assignment book and a folder that will contain homework papers, school/district related mail, and papers that have been checked and returned. Please check this folder every day, as parental follow-up is very important for teaching your child responsibility and organizational skills. Homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday. Unless otherwise stated, the assignments are expected to be completed neatly and handed in the following morning.

Homework usually consists of Reading (20 minutes or more), spelling, and math, and it would be recorded daily in their homework assignment book.  It is very important that your child have a quiet place to do his/her homework and that a specific time be put aside every evening for doing homework. These are time management skills that will last your child a lifetime and should be started now. If you have any questions about homework or if your child is having difficulty with his/her homework in any way, please feel free to contact me and I will work with you to help solve any problems. Thank you for your support in this matter.

We love to celebrate birthdays! If you would like to send in a treat for the class on your child's birthday, that would be great. For those children whose birthdays do not fall on a school day or are during summer vacation, you may choose another day to celebrate.

    Parent Communication

Throughout the year, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. I would appreciate it if you would first send in a note or an email so that I could then set aside a time to talk with you about the matter. Please know that your concerns are very important to me, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you so much for your support and cooperation. I am looking forward to sharing a wonderful year with your child.
