    Children in third grade develop their research, writing and reporting skills as they study the election process, countries around the world, and individual states.

    • Citizenship
    • Countries Around the World – This is a research project in which each student selects a country and a holiday that he/she would like to learn more about.  You will be amazed by the variety of holidays that are celebrated around the world.
    • States – Students choose a state to research and report on.  The focus of this unit is to learn about the similarities and differences within our own country.
    • Scholastic News – Bi-weekly current events subscription.

    Science

    There are three units to learn in third grade. In all units, the emphasis will be on scientific observation and measurement, deductive and inductive reasoning, problem solving and theorizing.  The students in third grade will be changing classrooms for science this year.
