February 23rd, 2019- Haven students represent WSSD in PMEA Region 6 Orchestra Festival
Aida Ruan, Grace Samaha, Megan Lowry, Rebecca Friedman, and Timothy Jensen represented Strath Haven in the PMEA Region 6 Orchestra Festival. These students performed with some of the highest-achieving student musicians in the Philadelphia region. Congratulations to Aida Ruan who has earned a spot in the PMEA All-State Orchestra! Congratulations to all!
February 22nd, 2019- Paul Bryan, Dean of the Curtis Institue of Music rehearses with the Wind Ensemble
Paul Bryan, Dean of the Curtis Institute of Music, visited Wind Ensemble class on Friday to work with Mr. Pignataro and our students. Mr. Bryan coached both teacher and students to think about performing music in a whole new way. As Dean, Paul Bryan heads the most selective college in the world. He generously shared some of that wealth of talent and knowledge with our student musicians!

February 5th, 2019-Former Philadelphia Orchestra cellist offers masterclass
String students in 6th-12th grade enjoyed a "Tune Up Your Bow" masterclass by Strath Haven alumna and Wall of Honor member, Ms. Deborah Reeder. Ms. Reeder was eager to give back to her alma mater after a distinguished career as a cellist and university teacher. Students learned bowing techniques and strategies that they will use in their next rehearsals.

November 23rd, 2018- Haven Symphony Orchestra rehearses with West Chester professor Joseph Caminiti
As the first in a series of collegiate music professors working with Strath Haven students, West Chester University Director of Orchestras Joseph Caminiti led the Panthers in a masterclass rehearsal with music by Elgar and Holst. Students learned collegiate musical expectations and had the chance to work with a very successful professional conductor.
