•  WSSD 2018 Comprehensive Plan

Chapter 4 regulations require school districts to engage in Comprehensive Planning in five important areas. The five required plans are in the areas of professional education, student services, gifted education, teacher induction, and special education. Comprehensive planning sections require renewal on a three or six year cycle. The special education plan was submitted and approved in spring of 2018 as part of a three-year cycle. The Professional Education Plan, also on a three-year cycle, is due for renewal in 2018.  The district used the state’s Comprehensive Planning process and web application tool to meet all of the planning requirements outlined in Chapter 4. The drafted plan will guide our steps from 2019 through June 2022 in the area of Professional Education. The Professional Education Plan includes goals, strategies, implementation steps, and indicators of effectiveness. The plan format is designed and dictated by the Department of Education.  The regulations require a 28 day public review of the plan prior to board approval and submission. The WSSD Professional Education Plan was accepted by the school board for review on October 8, 2018. Public review and comment is planned for October 9, 2018 through November 6, 2018.  Parents and community members are invited to review and provide comments on the required sections of the plan by contacting the Office for Curriculum and Education at WSSDCompPlan@wssd.org
