Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year
This webpage provides information about WSSD's plans for reopening as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. We aim to provide a learning environment that supports our students, staff, and families with health and safety as our top priority.After a busy summer of planning and preparations by our administrators and teachers, we welcomed our students back to school on Monday, August 31st, virtually. Students began returning to school according to a hybrid schedule beginning on October 1st.At the February 22, 2021, the WSSD school board voted to have elementary school students return for full, in-person learning according to the following schedule:If rates fall below 100 per 100,000 per the CHHD guidelines on or around March 5th, WSSD will begin with the elementary transition plan on March 18th. If we do not meet that threshold, the transition plan will go into affect on April 5th, after the spring break recess.For SHMS and SHHS students, a commitment form has been sent out for parents to indicate whether they will return to school for full, in-person learning or attend 100% virtually.
