About Kevin Henry
Kevin Henry is serving his first term on the WSSD School Board and has recently been elected Vice President of the Board. He has lived in Wallingford since 2004 and has had two children attend WSSD schools from kindergarten through high school. Mr. Henry has spent more than 25 years working in the international risk assessment and insurance industry. He is a U.S. Navy veteran and holds a B.S. in Economics from West Chester university and a M.B.A. from Wilmington University. Mr. Henry currently serves as a Divisional Asst. Vice President in the Specialty Risks’ division of Great American Insurance Group.

About Kelly Wachtman
Kelly Wachtman was elected to the WSSD School Board in November 2017 and has served as the Board President since December 2021. She and her husband, Jeff, are the proud parents of two Strath Haven graduates and a current SHMS sixth grader. Kelly built her career of more than 25 years with AmeriHealth Caritas, a publicly-funded health insurance company serving individuals and families at lower-income levels and persons with disabilities. She currently is the Vice President of Performance Management and has held prior leadership roles in organizational transformation, strategic planning, and public policy. Kelly is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College. Kelly believes firmly in the value of public education and the importance of continuous inquiry, assessment and innovation in the delivery of a world-class educational experience. She is excited to leverage her professional expertise to help guide WSSD as we prepare every student to reach their full potential and succeed in a rapidly changing world.

About Nannette Whitsett
Nannette Whitsett is serving her second year of a two-year term for the Third Ward which began in the Spring of 2021. Nanette also serves as a member of the Educational Affairs and Policy committees. A life-long resident of the Media Borough, she moved to the community of South Media in 1992 and has two grown children who attended WSSD schools K through 12. Nannette is a graduate of Delaware County Community College with an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts. Her expertise spans education, wellness, and community partnerships. Over a 21-year career, she worked as a Program Specialist, Supervisor, Case Manager, and Counselor in Elwyn. She also worked for St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church of Woodlyn, PA as a preschool teacher, where she fell in love with teaching. She is a member of the Nether Providence Township Parks and Recreation Committee and the Founder and Chair of South Media Neighbors United (SMNU). In her capacity at SMNU, she was on the team that advocated to create and design plans to re-name and refurbish Martha Burton Community Park. As the chair of the organization, she successfully advocated for the Township to apply for grants that would clean the creek beds, improve the playground area, and add ADL entrances in the park.

About Rachel Holbert
Rachel Holbert is serving her first term on the WSSD School Board. She has served on the Facilities and Finance Committees and as Chair of the Policy Committee. Currently she is the Board representative to the Delaware County Intermediate Unit. Rachel and her family moved to the WSSD in 2014 when one son began high school and the other began middle school. She volunteered with the Strath Haven High School All-Sports Boosters, becoming its President during the 2017-18 school year. Rachel earned her BA in Economics from Miami University of Ohio, her Masters in Public Administration from Syracuse University, and her Masters in Public Health from Temple University. Prior to her current position at Prevention Point Philadelphia as a Health Equity Research Specialist, Rachel worked as a consultant for federal, state, and local government entities.

About Robert Miller
Robert Miller is serving his first team on the WSSD School Board. He and his wife Heather moved to Wallingford in 2012 and have two children in the District – one in sixth grade at Strath Haven Middle School and one in third grade at Nether Providence Elementary. In addition to his Board service, he is also a volunteer youth basketball coach for the Swarthmore Recreation Association. Robert has been a college administrator for 25 years and is currently the Chief Alumnae/i Relations and Development Officer at Bryn Mawr College. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Elizabethtown College.

About Mary-Jo Witkowski Smith
Mary Jo Witkowski-Smith is currently in her second year serving on the WSSD School Board, where she chairs the Educational Affairs Committee and is the delegate to the Pennsylvania School Boards Association. It has been Mary Jo’s passion and pleasure to have served as an educator for the last forty-two years. Mary Jo’s expertise spans school leadership, budgeting, and school climate and culture. Her career has taken her on a diverse educational journey, including teaching and leadership in educational communities such as residential treatment centers, top performing suburban schools and charter schools in impoverished neighborhoods. One of the highlights of her career was her tenure at Strath Haven Middle and High schools.

About David Grande
David Grande is serving his second term on the WSSD School Board. He has lived in Swarthmore since 2011 and served as President of the School Board from December 2019 to December 2021. He has two children in the District and currently serves as chair of the Facilities and Finance committees. Dr. Grande has worked in the areas of health policy and medicine for more than 20 years. He holds a BS in Biotechnology from Rutgers University, MD from Ohio State University and a Masters in Public Affairs from Princeton University. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and Director of Policy at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. At the University, he divides his time between clinical practice (Internal Medicine), teaching health policy, and conducting and communicating health policy research.

About Michelle Williams
Michelle Williams and her husband have lived in Swarthmore since 2006, and are the proud parents of 3 children - a junior at SHHS, a sixth grader at SHMS, and a fourth grader at SRS. Michelle has devoted her career to public education, working for the past 26 years as a public high school Social Studies teacher. Michelle graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in History and a minor in Government, and received a MT in Secondary Social Studies Education from the University of Virginia as well. Michelle has been actively involved as a parent volunteer in WSSD for over a decade, including service on the executive board of SRS Home and School Association as the Vice President from 2013-2014, President from 2014-2016, and then as Receiving Treasurer from 2017-2022.

About Christine Dollé
Christine Dollé served the remainder of a term that expired in 2023 and was elected to serve a full-term beginning in 2023-2024. She is a proud parent of twins in the district. Christine currently serves on the Educational Affairs, Policy, and Wellness Committees. She is a Certified School Psychologist with over 20 years of experience advocating for children and families and working collaboratively in public school settings Pre-K through 12, with opportunities to extend her reach beyond the traditional role of psychoeducational assessor. Christine’s experience includes a strong focus on prevention and crisis intervention and supporting at-risk students. She earned her MA in Educational Psychology, Substance Awareness Coordinator Certification (NJ), and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Business Administration. With young children at home, she had the unique opportunity to advocate for clean air for kids and action on climate change as a Southeast PA Field Consultant with an environmental nonprofit.
