 WSSD 2015 Comprehensive Plan

Books

Chapter 4 regulations require school districts to submit plans in five important areas in lieu of a full strategic plan. The five required plans are in the areas of professional education, student services, gifted education, teacher induction, and special education. The special education plan was submitted and approved in spring of 2014. It is not included below with the attachments scheduled for review, but is part of the overall district plan. The state’s Comprehensive Planning process and web application tool were used to meet all of the planning requirements outlined in the revised Chapter 4.  The district has used the state's web tool not only to produce the required reports, but also to draft a plan that will guide our steps from 2015 through June 2018.  These plans include goals, strategies, implementation steps, and indicators of effectiveness. The plan format is designed and dictated by the Department of Education.  The regulations require a 28 day public review of the plans prior to board approval and submission. The WSSD Comprehensive Plan was accepted by the school board for review on December 15, 2014. Public review and comment is planned for December 16, 2014 through January 25, 2015.  Parents and community members are invited to review and provide comments on the required sections of the plan by contacting the Office for Curriculum and Education at delias@wssd.org.
