• Welcome to Nether Providence Elementary!

  • MEET OUR PRINCIPAL, MR. AL HEINLE

Welcome to NPE!  From the first moment I visited the school, I was impressed with the strong bond between the students, staff and parents at Nether Providence Elementary. We have a staff that is dedicated to challenging students to reach their highest potential. Our parents are invested partners that support the school's activities and assist our staff in a variety of ways. The students brighten our hallways on a daily basis with their smiles and eagerness to learn. NPE is truly a great place to be!

I have been fortunate to serve as NPE's principal since 2012. Prior to assuming this role, I had spent 13 years as an educator in the Rose Tree Media and Centennial School Districts. Before beginning my teaching career in the Rose Tree Media School District in 1999, I graduated from Marist College in 1996 with a Social Work Degree. In 1999, I completed a Master's Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Pennsylvania and, in 2004, I completed a Master's Degree in Educational Administration with a Principal's Certification from Gwynedd-Mercy College.

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, I spent 11 years in the Rose Tree Media School District, where I taught 4th and 5th Grades. I also served as Social Studies Coordinator, Summer School Director, and Literacy Council Representative.

In August 2010, I assumed the position of Assistant Principal of Stackpole and Longstreth Elementary Schools in the Centennial School District. From March 2011 through June 2012, I fulfilled the daily responsibilities and duties of building principal at Longstreth Elementary in Warminster, PA. Since joining the Wallingford-Swarthmore community in 2012, NPE has become my home. I am truly fortunate to be a part of such a caring community that focuses on providing each child with the opportunity to succeed in and out of the classroom.

Please visit our website often to remain informed of events and happenings at NPE. If you have not already had the opportunity, please be sure that the NPE office has a current email address so that you are able to receive periodic E-alerts containing important information from our school.

Once again, I am thrilled to be part of the NPE community and anticipate an engaging, challenging, and rewarding educational experience for all of our students. At NPE, we will continue to strive daily to provide each learner with the opportunity to achieve their highest potential. I look forward to working with you.
